Beckley House: Apartments for the Elderly with Limited Income
The Beckley House was Built in 2000 on the site of the original Geer Hospital. Rent is based on income, and those income levels are established by the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. All residents are selected in occordance to current HUD standards.
All apartments feature one bedroom, a separate kitchen, a full bath, and a living/dining room. In addition to the apartments, Beckley House has a community library, lounge, TV room, a large community room, and on-site management.
Currently, rental assistance contracts with the federal government dictate that the rent for each resident will be calculated at 30% of their adjusted income, and that income is not to exceed $24,950 for singles, nor $28,500 for couples.
