Geer Covid-19 update 10/17/2020 3:30 pm
At this time, we can report that all our Lodge Resident testing results are complete and the number of positive cases remains at 11. We are still waiting for about 65 test results but at this time the number of staff positive cases are 5. None of the residents or staff are showing symptoms, at this time. We are taking all necessary precautions to prevent any further spread.
While there are no reported cases at the Nursing & Rehab facility we are working with the local and state authorities to create a plan to test residents there as a precaution. Staff have already been under testing protocols per state guidelines. Geer has not been sharing staff between our buildings since the beginning of the pandemic.
Geer leadership has participated in a local coordinating call with the Torrington Area Health District and other local representatives. It is also reported that there are a number of cases being reported in the local and regional communities, besides at Geer.
Please take all the necessary precautions to protect yourself and your loved ones. Restrict contact with anyone outside of your immediate family, socially distance when you can not restrict access, always wear a mask and practice regular hand hygiene.
We need your help in battling COVID-19. Please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website to learn how you can help prevent the spread in our community at https://portal.ct.gov/Coronavirus.
