Covid-19 update 10/19/2020 4:00 pm

2020-10-19 Covid statement

We would like to thank those who have donated PPE and who continue to support Geer Village during this difficult time.

Lodge update

Today we can report that we have received all the results of all our staff and care partner testing, with one additional positive case, for a total of 7. Quarantine and testing for positive staff will be followed per CDC and CT DPH guidelines.

Positive cases among our resident population remains at 11. Today we have re-tested all the residents on our Gardenside unit that tested negative last week.

All staff and residents will continue weekly testing until we produce negative results for all for a minimum of 14 days per CT DPH guidelines.

A strict policy of isolation, use of PPE and sanitizing is being followed throughout the building. The CT Department of Public Health attended the Lodge for inspection on Saturday, October 17th to observe infection control practices and had no further recommendations at that time.

Nursing & Rehab Center update

Although we have no reported cases of Covid-19 at the Nursing Center, out of an abundance of caution we tested all the residents at the Nursing and Rehab today. All staff at the Nursing and Rehab will complete testing by weeks end.

Our residents and staff will remain on a weekly testing schedule at least until we have 2 consecutive weeks of negative tests. Prior to this, routine testing was done per DPH guidance.

We will update with any significant changes in the coming days.
