About Geer

A Key Part of Northwestern Connecticut

Located on over 70 acres in historic Canaan, Connecticut, Geer Village Senior Community is a non-profit organization and community of independent seniors, residents with infirmities, daily program participants, caregivers, families, staff, neighbors, volunteers, and friends.

Our services include independent living apartments, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing and rehabilitation, outpatient physical therapy, pharmacy services, adult day care, dial-a-ride, low-income housing and community gathering spaces that are all located on our beautiful campus.

In addition to our services, you will also find the Canaan branch of the Northwestern CT YMCA here. An on-site cafe is also open to the public for breakfast and lunch. Many local civic and community groups call Geer Village Senior Community home for their meetings and charitable works.

Core Values

We, the Geer Team, emphasize respect, integrity, compassion and forgiveness in our interactions with staff and are stewards in the continued support of the values as we offer the full continuum of care to the senior community.

Our Mission

Geer Village Senior Community is a community of healing professionals whose principal mission is to console, treat, strengthen, and refresh the bodies, minds, and spirits of the elderly and disabled residents of the tri-state area.

Geer Village Senior Community focuses on what really matters, caring for our friends, family and neighbors in the northwest corner of Connecticut. We have no distant corporate office to report to. Our patients, families, employees, management and board of directors all focus on what is best for life here in our community. That’s our promise.

At Geer Village Senior Community, everything we do focuses on holistic senior living. We offer a place where one can age in a supportive environment, thriving at all stages of life.
